Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) offers an Associate of Applied Science in Software Engineering, focusing on the development and maintenance of software applications for a variety of operating systems. Students who complete the program gain essential skills such as software design and programming, software testing and troubleshooting, project management, and network administration.
NNMC's software engineering program is offered in both in-person and online formats. The program provides students with the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in software engineering and programming and a thorough understanding of the development process. Courses include C++ Programming, Database Design and Development, Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, Computer Networking, and Web Development.
In addition to the core software engineering content, students have the opportunity to take a variety of elective courses that provide deeper insight into software engineering topics. Popular electives include Artificial Intelligence, Mobile Application Development, Machine Learning, and User Interface Design. Students can also opt to participate in an internship or industry project.
