About

Northern Arizona University (NAU) offers one of the top software engineering programs in the country, enabling students to pursue a career in this exciting and rapidly-evolving field. The program is tailored to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen profession, while the university provides a strong foundation of technical, communication and analytic skills.

The university offers two distinct degrees in software engineering: a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering and a Master of Science in Software Engineering. At the undergraduate level, students can choose from three concentrations, depending on their interests and professional goals. Those concentrations are Computer Systems, Web Design and Business Intelligence. The curriculum prepares students for real-world challenges through hands-on projects and coursework. Through this program, students will learn everything from basic programming languages, such as Java and HTML, to more advanced topics, like artificial intelligence and data mining.

At the graduate level, students can further their knowledge by pursuing a Masters in Software Engineering. This degree focuses on developing strong leadership abilities and refining the technical skills necessary for the successful design and development of software applications. Students will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of architecture and software engineering principles, while being exposed to cutting-edge technologies, such as agile software development and cloud computing.

No matter which program or degree students choose, they will be supported every step of the way. NAU provides students access to experienced faculty members, an expansive library, state-of-the-art laboratories, and research and development resources. From these resources, students can gain valuable experience in the world of software engineering and develop the skills employers seek.

NAU’s software engineering program is preparing students to lead the way in this dynamic field. With the university’s strong foundation, resources, and curriculum, graduates are ready to enter the workforce and make an impact.
