Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) is a public, state-funded, historically black university in Tallahassee, Florida. It is the largest historically black university in the United States by enrollment and the only public historically black university in Florida. The university offers a wide range of degree programs, including a comprehensive software engineering program at its College of Engineering Sciences, Technology and Agriculture (CESTA).
FAMU’s software engineering program is focused on preparing students for the rapidly changing field of software engineering. The curriculum combines software engineering principles and technology with an emphasis on helping students develop skills and knowledge necessary to design and build software that meets user needs. Students learn the fundamentals of computing and software development through courses such as software engineering fundamentals, data structures and algorithms, operating systems design, software verification, and software testing and evaluation.

In addition, students can participate in internships, learn from faculty with real-world experience, and be part of a diverse learning environment where they can collaborate with other students who are passionate about software engineering.
