Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC) offers a comprehensive education program in software engineering. Their curriculum provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to develop, test, maintain and troubleshoot software systems. The program is designed to prepare graduates to become successful software engineers by teaching them the fundamentals of programming, system design and analysis, database systems, web development, mobile applications and more.

The college offers two different software engineering degrees; an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and Bachelor of Science (BS). Both degrees are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and offer a hands-on approach to learning. With the AAS degree, students will gain the basic foundation in software engineering and learn fundamental concepts such as programming languages, object-oriented programming, software development life cycle, and software testing and debugging.
