Software Engineering education is available at Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SOSU) to help prepare the next generation of engineers for success in the field. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum focusing on software development, testing and debugging, design and analysis, object-oriented programming, web application development, information systems, and many more software-related topics. Students can choose from a variety of electives to further customize their studies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and mobile application development.

The SOSU Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering requires a total of 124 credits. Students begin their studies by taking foundational courses in mathematics, computer science, and software engineering. From there, they can pursue a concentration or specialize in different areas of software engineering such as information systems or mobile application development.
The program culminates with a semester-long capstone project in which students demonstrate their mastery of the skills they have acquired throughout the program. This provides students with an opportunity to show their knowledge and abilities in a real-world setting. Entirely dedicated faculty work closely with each student throughout the process.
