The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Software Engineering program at RIT provides an integrated and comprehensive approach to software engineering that covers design, development, and management of large, complex software systems. The program focuses on problem-solving, team-building, and organizational skills, while teaching students the technology and tools used to develop software applications and systems. Courses focus on programming, systems analysis and design, databases, system architectures, and software development processes.

In addition to teaching fundamental engineering principles, the program prepares graduates to work in many different areas including game development, mobile software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, software quality assurance, user experience design, and networking. RIT also offers a Masters of Science (MS) in Software Engineering degree which further emphasizes the technical and managerial aspects of software engineering.
