About

Software engineering is an important and evolving field of study at Crowder College. The college offers a comprehensive education in software engineering that covers the fundamentals of computer science, programming, and design principles.

Crowder College's software engineering program focuses on the development of software that meets the needs of a variety of organizations, as well as on the management of the software engineering process. Students receive hands-on experience in developing, designing, coding, and testing software applications. This foundation prepares them for entry-level positions in software engineering, or to pursue a graduate degree in the field.

The core curriculum consists of courses such as computer architecture, design methods, software systems, algorithms and data structures, programming, database systems, networking, artificial intelligence, and software engineering principles. Students also have the option to specialize in areas such as information security, robotics, embedded systems, human-computer interaction, and mobile applications. Furthermore, students can take advantage of internships, projects, and research opportunities available at Crowder College.

In addition to coursework, the software engineering program includes a capstone project. This project allows students to demonstrate their mastery of the material by designing, implementing, testing, and deploying an application. Through this project, students gain valuable real world experience and sharpen their problem-solving skills.

At the end of their software engineering program, students receive a Bachelor of Science degree, which qualifies them to enter the software engineering industry. With the knowledge and skills gained from Crowder College’s software engineering program, graduates are prepared to tackle the increasingly complex software engineering problems of today.
