About

Northwest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) offers students a quality education in software engineering, a field that continues to grow in demand. NWACC’s software engineering program provides students with the knowledge and skill sets necessary to become successful software engineers. From beginning classes in computer programming and software design to advanced courses in mobile application development, NWACC’s software engineering program is designed to help students to gain the skills and confidence to compete in today’s highly competitive job market.

At NWACC, students can choose from certificates or degrees in software engineering. The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree provides students with a broad background in software applications, hardware systems, network architectures, and programming languages. The program stresses hardware architecture and the systems-level capabilities of a software engineer. The AAS degree requires 60 credit hours and includes courses in Computer Networking, Web Technologies, Advanced Programming, and Database Systems.

The Certificate of Completion (CC) program provides students with an introduction to software engineering. The certificate program requires 32 credit hours in core software engineering classes, as well as electives based on the student’s interests. The CC program is a great way for students to explore the field and discover their interests.

NWACC also offers online courses in software engineering, allowing students to complete their education while living at home or working full-time. Students in the online program will have access to the same faculty and resources as those in the on-campus program. The online program will also provide students with the opportunity to interact with their peers, giving them the chance to collaborate and learn from each other.

The software engineering program at NWACC provides students with the knowledge and experience necessary to be successful in the field. By offering both on-campus and online courses, NWACC gives students the flexibility to pursue their degrees at their own pace and convenience. With its quality education and flexible learning options, NWACC is an ideal choice for those interested in pursuing a career in software engineering.
